Ready to Join us - Intermediate Program

Bowen Hockey's intermediate players program suits girls and boys 10-15 years or with some hockey experience.

This program was developed to build on the basic skills of the game, whilst improving their fundamental motor skills and ability to work in a team. All players will be allocated to small groups with children of similar age and experience. This program also supports our junior youth members of the Bowen State High School boys and girls hockey team.

Every week players will be involved with warm up skills, re-enforcing past skills learnt including simulated games to put into practice what has been learnt. A weekly focus on game rules also features throughout the program. Game time will consist of four twelve minute quarters with team talks at the end of each quarters.

Bowen Hockey is proud of our long history of supporting family and community sports. Every player is welcome, all abilities, any fitness levels from the elite to the beginner! Our goal to build a lifelong love of the game, hockey, as well to get fit and have fun in a safe nurturing environment.

 All games are played on Sunday afternoons at Bowen State High School from 2pm - 3pm during school terms, April to September. Pre-season commences March. The indoor season kicks off April to June. Outdoor / Grass season operates from July to September - showcasing the very best of our Whitsunday climate.

WHEN: Weekly, Sunday afternoons from 2pm - 3pm during school term, April to September. 

WHERE: Covered area, Bowen State High School, 1-9 Argyle Park road

UNIFORMS / EQUIPMENT: Bowen Hockey Blue club shirt or similar with black shorts/skorts/leggings. Hockey sticks available to borrow. Bring your mouthguard and shin pads, water and hat.

COST: Click the Registration tab for player fees. Fees include Hockey Australia/Hockey QLD and Bowen Hockey contributions. All players must be registered to participate. Bowen Hockey club shirts available for purchase from Sports Power Bowen.
